Laura Matthews is a certified Alexander Technique teacher with a practice in Chicago, Illinois. She is a recognized member of American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT). She trained under Master Teacher, Daria Okugawa at the ATTiC (Alexander Technique Training in Chicago), a three year 1600 hours teacher training program. She has enjoyed a role as a teaching assistant at Roosevelt University and The School for Theatre Creators.
In addition, Laura is a theatre teaching artist in Chicago affiliated with Emerald City Theatre, and American Theatre Company, working with performers of all ages. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at Elmhurst College where she teaches the Alexander Technique and acting.
Laura holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Musical Theatre and Interdisciplinary Communication Studies from Elmhurst College, and continues her work as a performer in the Chicago area.
